Fairfax Adult Softball Donates Thousands in 2015

Fairfax County – Fairfax Adult Softball (FAS), a 501c3 charitable organization and the largest adult ASA softball league in the nation, hosted several tournaments and events throughout the year to raise funds for four Charitable Organizations this year. Supporting these causes combined with running a successful and fun league for our participants, is what FAS prides itself on.

2015 was the fifteenth straight year FAS has supported Northern Virginia Special Olympics, Area 26 with our benefit bowling tournament. Each year, we raise $15,000 at this event and we hope to do even better with our 16th annual benefit bowling tournament on January 31, 2016. We also host a pair of tournaments each summer that raise funds for the Fisher House Foundation. This program provides military families housing close to their loved ones during hospitalization and we will continue to support our veterans and this amazing foundation annually.

In addition to these two annual donations, FAS contributed to two new charities this year, the National Breast Cancer Foundation and The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center. We are very proud to donate to both causes to help with their ongoing fight to save lives. We all know someone that has been affected by cancer in some way and every little bit of support helps to fund research and cures!

We contributed to four charities in 2015 and plan to expand on our charitable giving efforts in 2016 by introducing a new “First Responders” tournament for our Fire and Rescue personnel and/or a “Battle of the Bases” tournament for all the military teams. We are currently planning the 16th Annual Benefit Bowling Tournament and we could use your help! We are constantly looking for volunteers and new personalities to make all of our events successful! For more information on how to participate and/or contribute to FAS, please call, write, email or visit us online!
