The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Fairfax Adult Softball, Inc. (FAS), has received designation by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501c3 charitable organization. This milestone achievement will allow us to function even more effectively, better serving our players, teams, and sponsors and the nonprofits we support.
Serving the Northern Virginia community for almost 40 years, FAS is one the largest fully sanctioned Amateur Softball Association programs in the world, with more than 10,000 players and nearly 900 teams participating annually.
We operate recreational and competitive slow pitch leagues for men and women in a variety of categories, including Men’s Open (18+), Masters (35+), Seniors (50+), Coed Open (18+) Corporate Coed (18+), Coed Masters (35+), and Women’s Open (18+), with multiple skill levels and divisions, including a Social Coed league where people can learn the game. We also operate a fast pitch league for Women (18+) and administer multi-team leagues for corporations such as Booz Allen and Lockheed Martin.
We are dedicated to working in a public-private partnership with our local government(s) to develop and promote the sport of softball for the citizens of our community, providing a conduit for our teams to compete at the highest levels nationally and internationally.
Each year, our annual fundraising efforts allow us to contribute to VA Special Olympics, Area 26, and other charitable organizations that focus on women’s health issues and our disabled military veterans and their families.
